After School Has NEVER Been This Cool!
Game On! After School classes are held one day per week for ten weeks with each class lasting approximately 2-3 hours in length. New sessions will be offered every three (3) months giving students and parents several opportunities throughout the school year to enroll. A detailed schedule of course types, partnering schools, dates and times will be published closer to the start of the Fall 2010 school year.
Classes Begin Fall 2010
Character Modeling & Game Design in Platform format
(Novice / Beginner)
Students will be exposed to an introductory level of platform game design using the same concepts and programming methods known for creating popular classics like Super Mario Bros®, Street Fighter®, and Sonic the Hedgehog®. For ten (10) weeks, instructors will patiently and efficiently bring the students through a customized curriculum that ensures beginners are not left behind from week to week while preserving a constructive and interactive momentum for all. This course has no prerequisites and uses the applications Multi Media Flash 2 and Adobe Creative Suite 2 to teach the course.
Character Modeling & Game Design in Top/Down format
(Novice / Beginner)
Students will be exposed to an introductory level of top down game design using the same concepts and programming methods known for creating popular game classics like Guitar Hero®, Mario Kart Wii®, and Wii Punch-Out®, For ten (10) weeks, instructors will patiently and efficiently bring the students through a customized curriculum that ensures beginners are not left behind from week to week while preserving a constructive and interactive momentum for all. This course has no prerequisites and uses the applications Multi Media Flash 2 and Adobe Creative Suite 2 to teach the course.
Character Modeling & Game Design in first person format (3D)
(Novice / Beginner)
Students will be exposed to an introductory level of first person format (in 3D format) game design using the same concepts and programming methods known for creating popular classics like Star Wars: The Force Unleashed®, Halo®, and Splinter Cell®. For ten (10) weeks, instructors will patiently and efficiently bring the students through a customized curriculum that ensures beginners are not left behind from week to week while preserving a constructive and interactive momentum for all. The prerequisite for this course is *Character Modeling & Game Design in first person format* or *Character Modeling & Game Design in Top/Down format*. This course uses Multi Media Flash 2, Adobe Creative Suite 2, and 3D Studio Max to teach the course.
